The (not so bright) future of Linquist
Okay, so the theme reached more than 10.000 downloads in a year. That’s certainly something and it made me think about the future of LQ more than once.
Many people have requested new features such as a sidebar, gallery, widgets and often stuff that Linquist just wasn’t built for. While it is possible to include most of this in a future version, making these features work via an options page is just something I don’t have the time (or will) to do. While I was working on the patch (with me being a designer, not a programmer type), trying to add new things broke the old things and it all became a horrible mess. It eventually made me give up on the “superpatch” altogether.
So here’s the deal: if there will be a new, bugfixed and improved Linquist theme, it will most likely be just the dark one (which is far more popular), with little to no options to set up, probably incompatible with the old version. Instead, an extensive walkthrough on how to easily change or add features will be written.
How does that sound?
Oh and there will be a brand new theme released soon. You’ll see :)

I think especially newcomers, people have reached 40, 50 or more years of live and people who like clear small fine themes are interested in “Linquist”. We have enough things making our life hard …

I just really miss one thing. Some times u want just publish sone text. But when u do, it does flow over the right side. If it stayed same size as when u publish a photo, it would look great. That’s all i want, and would make this theme all i need.

I just miss something , and I wonder if you can help me , Can I create a page called galleries and subpages (b&w,portrait…) and create galleries inside them? , if so …could you tell me how ?

Love this theme. I needed something simple, and this is it!! I made slight modifications with background color and text colors and what not, but otherwise this theme is great. As for widgetized themes, there are bunch of them out there. Thank you so much!

I think you are very wise in your thinking. While the dual stylesheet theme was brilliant, I agree that the dark theme is the better one.

There are some issues with the dual stylesheets and you can see the errors when you view our site with the YSlow plugin for Firefox.
I’d love to see any updates you design or new themes. Heck, make some extra spending money and sell them on ThemeForest!

Congratulations for Linquist, it is a good theme. A gallery it would be nice, I prefer the dark one Linquist as many others. I expekt an update to linquist, i`m curios how it will look.
